An Analysis of the Construction of China’s Diplomatic Image from the Perspective of Multimodal Metaphor and Metonymy: A Case Study of Great Power Diplomacy %A 房佳美 %J Modern Linguistics %P 2972-2980 %@ 2330-1716 %D 2023 %I Hans Publishing %R 10.12677/ML.2023.117404 %X 国家形象是一个民族的名片,是国家软实力的重要组成部分。纪录片作为一种信息传播的重要手段,是国际交流中塑造、传播并提升国家形象的重要载体。目前学界探讨纪录片中国家形象的研究较为丰富,但对国家形象中“外交”这一特殊领域关注尚少,也很少有学者从多模态隐喻转喻等视角对中国讲述中国故事、外交故事这一领域进行专门探讨。基于此,本研究从多模态隐喻和转喻理论出发,对中国国家形象纪录片《大国外交》中多模态隐喻、转喻的认知构建进行解读,来分析其塑造的国家外交形象。
National image is the name card of a nation and an important part of a country’s soft power. As an important means of information dissemination, documentary is a significant carrier to shape, spread and enhance national image in international communication. At present, there are abundant researches on national images in documentaries, but little attention is paid to the special field of “diplomacy” in national images, and few scholars have made special discussions on the field of China’s storytelling and diplomatic stories from the perspective of multimodal metaphor and metonymy. Based on this, starting from the theory of multimodal metaphor and metonymy, this study interprets the cognitive construction of multimodal metaphor and metonymy in China’s national image documentary Great Power Diplomacy to analyze the national diplomatic image created by them. %K 国家形象,中国外交形象,多模态隐转喻
