German-American psychologist and psychiatrist Karen put forward a unique insight into the de-terminants of women’s psychological development characteristics through the critique and inhe-ritance of Freud’s theory, emphasizing the role of cultural and social factors on personality, and formed her own school of psychoanalysis, which was controversial at the time. Her theories contributed greatly to the development of women’s psychology.
