%X This write-up examines the problems and prospects of ¡°the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme (P-YES) and its impact on employment generation in Nigeria¡±. The study acknowledges the importance of youth in national development and highlights the need for motivation, training, education, and empowerment to harness their potential. ¡°The unemployment rate in Nigeria¡± remains high despite various government programmes aimed at reducing it. This is especially true among young people with advanced educational backgrounds. The article discusses how P-YES is being used, what it aims to accomplish, and how it differs from other government empowerment initiatives. It also explores the concept of social safety nets and their role in poverty reduction and employment generation. The study highlights the urgent need for efficient strategies to address youth unemployment in Nigeria and identifies the difficulties facing P-YES operations. The findings of this research contribute to the discourse on youth empowerment and provide insights into potential solutions for addressing unemployment in the country. To tackle youth unemployment successfully and create a lasting impact for millions of young Nigerians, we need a multifaceted approach that values collaboration among stakeholders, leverages successful models, fosters innovation, and catalyses systemic changes.
