%X 开展中华文化视频字幕英译及研究对我国文化的对外传播起着重要作用,对视频字幕中的文化专有项进行精准翻译是汉译英过程中关乎文化传播成效的重中之重。本文以艾克西拉的文化专有项翻译策略为指导,对《新疆味道》(续)视频字幕进行英译,通过翻译实例分析,发掘艾克西拉文化专有项翻译策略在中国传统文化英译中的适用性。通过对该字幕翻译实践全过程的实证分析,并对原语中承载的文化特点的剖析,探究策略选择的影响因素。
The English translation and research of Chinese cultural subtitles play an important role in the external communication of Chinese culture. The accurate translation of Culture-Specific Items (CSIs) in subtitles is a top priority in the process of C-E translation, which is related to the effec-tiveness of cultural transmission. This paper takes Aixelá’s strategies for translating CSIs as the theoretical basis and the English translation of A Taste of Xinjiang (sequel) subtitles as an example, so as to explore the applicability of Aixelá’s strategies in the C-E translation of traditional Chinese culture through the method of case analysis. This paper also explores the influencing factors of strategy selection through the empirical analysis of the whole process of the subtitles translation practice and analysis of the cultural characteristics carried by the source language.
