Effective social governance methods and ideas are of great theoretical significance for promoting effective national governance. The excellent traditional Chinese culture, which is broad and profound with a long history, contains extremely rich social governance ideas. Benevolence, governing with morality and moral education are important contents of Confucian social governance ideology. Dao and non dispute are important contents of Taoist social governance ideology. The governance ideas of ancient sages, although ancient, still shine brightly. Comparing and analyzing the social governance ideology of Confucianism and Taoism is of great significance for us to deeply understand and grasp China’s excellent traditional culture, push through the old to bring forth the new, and make the past serve the present to promote Chinese path to modernization.
