The application of 3D printing technology is expected to lead the industrial revolution 4.0, subvert the economy and provide design customization. The construction industry is rapidly catching up with this modern technology and producing concrete 3D printers to provide a healthy working environment and achieve economic independence and building freedom. Geopolymers have been found to be effective substitutes for 3D printing cement materials in the construction industry, which may help to make them more environmentally friendly. This paper comprehensively reviews the printing process, performance requirements, and common 3D printing concrete technology. Geopolymer is used as a suitable concrete material for the emerging environmental protection concrete compound in modern buildings.
