Sexual double standards refer to the social phenomenon that people endorse inconsistent standards evaluating men’s and women’s sexual behaviors. It’s prevalent in society that men are condoned while women are condemned because of sexual activities, whereas several researches provided controversial results on the existence of sexual double standards. This review discusses this issue from theoretical and methodological aspects, involving evolutionary theory, social roles theory, male and female control theory, to reveal the limitations of previous research and give implications for future research. %K 性双重标准,性别差异,性态度
