Zadie Smith’s novel “White Teeth” is an excellent work of post-colonialism. Through in-depth de-scription of three families with different backgrounds, the novel reveals the serious social and cultural dilemma and involves multiple themes such as race, religion, history and cultural identity. This paper will take the intergenerational transition to analyze how first-generation immigrants and second-generation immigrants face the identity and culture crisis and how to find individual cultural identity so as to realize the construction of immigrant identity. The novel reveals the hybridity and uncertainty of immigrant identity and embodies Smith’s advocacy of a multicultural and harmonious society. %K 扎迪• %K 史密斯,《白牙》,后殖民主义,杂糅理论,代际变迁,移民身份,文化认同
