Admiring Silence is written by the Tanzanian writer Abdulrazak Gurnah, whose works explore the discourse strategy of African immigrants negotiating to build their diaspora identity in their new country of residence, namely Britain, and capture the contradictory position between the narrator’s turbulent home Zanzibar after independence and the new, completely different environment. Through meticulous storytelling and characterization, this novel truly reproduces the situation of the Tanzanian people after the end of colonial rule, enabling African people to become aware of the reality of the lack of cultural identity and the need for identity reconstruction. %K 《赞美沉默》,后殖民,流散,身份危机
