The application of ultrasonic oxide skin thickness measurement method in utility boilers is introduced. At the same time, the high temperature heating surface of an ultra supercritical unit boiler was tested by using a portable oxide skin thickness gauge, and the obtained data are compared with the background data monitored by the power plant and the laboratory sampling measurement data, which proves that the measurement results obtained by ultrasonic oxide skin thickness measurement are reliable.
