The game industry is booming in China, and market demand has promoted the rapid development of domestic game localization services. As one of the key aspects of game localization, the translation quality of game texts largely affects the quality of the game and consequently, the experience of the players. The translation aesthetics can serve as a guide for the localized translation in games, as it can help enhance its literary and artistic quality, which will further enhance player’s aesthetic experience. This article selects Wildermyth, an RPG game with a large amount of text and a unique storytelling system, as a case, and analyzes its aesthetic value from two perspectives of formal beauty and non-formal beauty.
