Objective: The purpose of our study was to investigate the influence of underweight on cognitive function. Methods: The study recruited patients with first-episode schizophrenia, and they were divided into two groups according to BMI. The data of height, weight, and cognitive functions of the patients were collected. Results: There was a positive correlation between the BMI and Digit Symbol. There was a negative correlation between the BMI and Trail Making Test A and Trail Making Test B. Underweight patients with schizophrenia had significantly lower scores than the patients with normal weight on the Digit Symbol, Trail Making Test A and Trail Making Test B. Conclusion: Our study suggests that BMI can affect cognitive function; the cognitive function of the underweight patients is lower than the patients with normal weight; the lower the weight, the worse the cognitive function. %K 首发精神分裂症患者,认知功能,体重指数
