The Berlin Wall Crisis in 1961 promoted the warming of Anglo-American relations in the early 1960s. At the beginning, the new Kennedy administration advocated taking a strong stand against the Soviet Union and exerting pressure on the Soviet Union in terms of nuclear and military forces. After the United States held many talks with Britain and exchanged views on the Berlin issue, the United States gradually adjusted its Berlin policy to be in line with Britain. The reason is that Britain and the United States have the same interests on the Berlin issue. Western European allies have shown a tendency to alienate the United States, and the economic crisis in the United States has made Britain occupy a more important position in the foreign strategy of the United States. After the Berlin Wall incident, the “unanimity” between Britain and the United States also extended to the Cuban missile crisis and cooperation in banning nuclear tests. %K 柏林墙,英美关系,肯尼迪,麦克米伦
