Pregnancy poses a unique challenge in the context of the management of infectious diseases because of the effect of the disease and treatment modalities on the mother and fetus. There has been a lack of active inclusion of pregnant women in various trials including vaccination trials in COVID-19; hence most information on treatment strategies became available from adult non-pregnant population.
