Chinese-English Interpreting Strategies of Culture-Loaded Terms from the Perspective of Interpretive Theory %A 姚岱奕 %A 陈千谦 %J Overseas English Testing: Pedagogy and Research %P 8-14 %@ 2643-5470 %D 2021 %I Hans Publishing %R 10.12677/OETPR.2021.31002 %X 在汉英口译实践中,由于汉语和英语在表达习惯上存在差异,汉语的特有文化会给译员带来理解上的困难并影响传译质量。此外,由于汉语和英语在语法层面上的差异,译员往往很难短时间内用英语进行汉语文化负载词的对等表达。因此,本文以释意理论为基础,以政府工作报告、记者招待会、大会主旨发言等材料为文本,对汉语文化负载词的官方译文进行分析,探讨了直译、意译、信息增补、信息精简四种汉英口译策略的可行性。
In Chinese-English (C-E) interpreting practices, due to the differences of expressions between the two languages, interpreters may misunderstand Chinese cultural context, which would lead to in-accurate interpretation. Moreover, it is hard for interpreters to find English equivalents to Chinese culture-loaded terms instantly because of the differences in their grammar. Therefore, in the light of Interpretive Theory, the paper analyzes the official interpretation of culture-loaded terms in the Report on the Work of the Government, replies to reporters’ questions and conference addresses, and studies the feasibility of four C-E interpreting strategies: literal interpretation, free interpretation, adding information and removing duplicates. %K 汉语文化负载词,脱离源语外壳,汉英口译策略
