%0 Journal Article %T Evaluation of 1991 General Elections and Laws Accepted after Election in the Turkey Grand National Assembly about Foreign Policy %A Aliye AKIN %J - %D 2019 %X The main objective of the work is to specify the commitments made by the political parties participating in the 1991 general election on their foreign policy which they include in their programs or in their election memorandums. 19. Period Turkey Grand National Assembly adopted the law is to reveal what happened. It is also necessary to determine whether or not political parties entering the general election can fulfill their foreign policy commitments in accordance with accepted laws and make an assessment in this line. In this direction, it was determined that the political parties entering the Turkish Grand National Assembly following the 1991 general election had promised to solve the problems in the foreign politics of the country. In general terms of the problems experienced in foreign policy in the mentioned period: The European Union membership process, the problem of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the problem of Turks living abroad, and problems with Greece have been identified. At the same time, it has been found that political parties have promised to establish good relations with neighboring countries, Muslim countries, the United States and Europe. It has been found that the Political Parties are committed to establish good relations with the Turkish states that will win their independence. 19. Period in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, was adopted many laws on foreign policy. It has been found that these laws have entered into force within the context of European Union membership, political, military, economic relations with Western states. It has been found that agreements have been made with the Turkish states, which are independent after the dissolution of the Soviet Socialist Republican Union, on various issues. These agreements were enforced by the laws adopted by the parliament. As a result of the work, it can be said that the political parties entering the Turkish Grand National Assembly during the said period showed important work in order to make the promises they made towards the problems of the country within the scope of foreign policy in general.
