%X In this research; the relationship between musical intentions and location choices of street musicians is questioned correlatively musicians¡¯ cultural backgrounds and preferred music genres, with sociologic perspective and qualitative and descriptive methods. Kadikoy district of Istanbul, where the research takes place, has been examined under categories ¡°upper¡± and ¡°lower¡± and the intentions of the musicians has been categorized as ¡°making money¡±, ¡°being visible¡± and ¡°artistic.¡± The answers, stories and problems of the street musicians are quoted with their own expressions. As a result; it has become clear that musicians of the ¡°lower¡± Kadikoy have intentions of making money or being visible, while the musicians of the ¡°upper¡± Kadikoy have artistic intentions
