%X Election, which are essential factor for democracy, is a connection providing communication between the politic decision makers and the public who are influenced directly or indirectly by the decisions. It is determined though the election mechanism who will govern the power. Thus, electors utter their content or discontent of the political party or parties which handle the government for a particular period. Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi has left a mark on the first 27 years of our republic history and has been a political party engaged with Turkish republic history. This period which is named as single-party period has caused discussions with its governance policy. During this period, the governing party¡¯s manner of rule has been criticised. In general this criticism has been in view of today¡¯s democracy perception. Therefore this period has been considerably an accused term. However each historical event should be evaluated with its historical conditions and environmental factors. With this starting point, local election which was presents in Ayd£¿n in the single-party period presents very useful information with regard to our national history
