%0 Journal Article %T A Study on Career Expectations of Tourist Guides %A Ali Kabakulak %A B¨¹nyamin Ko£¿ak %J - %D 2018 %X Purpose and Importance: This research aimed to determine the professional expectations of professional tourist guides and to suggest solution proposals. This research was carried out in order to determine the professional expectations of 25 professional tourist guides in Bursa. Literature survey was conducted to determine the expressions involved in the scale and questionnaires were applied to tourist guides. In these situations, face-to-face interviews with tourist guides were conducted during these applications and the process was supported. Detailed information was provided to the participants in order to get productive results. Methodology: In this research, which deals with the professional expectations of tour guides, the questionnaire technique was used to obtain the data needed. The questionnaire basically consists of two parts. In the first part of the questionnaire, demographic information belonging to the participant and in the second part, 7 expressions about professional expectations were included. Literature was used in the formation of the expressions, and 5 Likert type scale was used. Survey data during the period of March-April 2017, face-to-face interviews with guides were conducted, and 25 tourists' guides participated in the survey. Findings: It has been revealed that the 25 tourists who participated in the survey wanted to do their guidance profession for many years, but they could not decide what exactly they wanted to do in the future. Limitations/implications: This study was carried out on 25 tourist guides in Bursa in March-April 2017 year. Thus, this research on a limited sample of been thinking that if the tourist guide as of June 10407, Turkey has carried out. In this study it was not possible to reach the 13 chambers in Turkey.
