Ishaq al-Kindi, the first Muslim philosopher, had has been subject to much debate for a long time. While some authors in Islamic philosophy describe him as a philosopher acting under the influence of the Mu¡¯tazilah, others consider him the founder of the Mashai tradition of Islam.
