%0 Journal Article %T Relationship Between Empathetic Disposition and Interaction Anxiety in University Students %A Levent Yayc£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the empathic tendencies of the university students and their interaction anxiety levels and to determine whether the levels of empathic tendency and interaction anxiety differ according to some variables (gender and faculty). 248 students from Giresun University education faculty and faculty of science and letters voluntarily participated in the study. Empathic Disposition and Interaction Anxiety Scale was used to collect data in the study. T test and correlation were employed in the assessment of the data. As a result of the study, it has been observed that empathetic dispositions and anxiety levels of the university students differ depending on the variables such as faculty and sex. In the study, it has been found out that empathetic dispositions and anxiety levels of the female students are significantly higher than male students, anxiety levels of the students in education faculty are lower than the students in faculty of science and letters, and empathetic dispositions of the students in education faculty are higher than those who are in faculty of science and letters. A positive, very poor relationship (r=.09) level has been reported between empathetic tendency and interaction anxiety.
