%0 Journal Article %T Akhisar G¨¹lruh Sultan Mosque and Restoration Recommendations in the Light Of New Data %A Ertan DA£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X The mosque is in the Hashoca district, in the center of Akhisar in Manisa province. The single domed building, which has an outer hall with three arches called ¡°son cemaat yeri¡± in front, was damaged by an earthquake in 1913. It was repaired by the General Directorate of Foundations (Vak£¿flar Genel M¨¹d¨¹rl¨¹£¿¨¹) in 1940; however, some of the features were modified during the repairment, and afterwards. The outer hall called ¡°son cemaat yeri¡± in front of the main hall was formerly domed, and through the repairment it has been transmogrified into a wooden porch roof. Besides, it has been reinforced by way of placing iron beams inside the walls; the window layout has been changed; the ornaments of the interior surface of the dome and the transition area has been coated by plastering; and an additional section has been built adjacent to the eastern facade of the building for women. In 2017, because of new cracks in the structure, restoration of the building was come into question, and for findign out the original properties the excavation and cleaning works were carried out in accordance with the Protection Board decisions.
