%0 Journal Article %T The Value of Introductions in Riwayah Tafs¨©rs in terms of Methodology of Quranic Exegesis (Example of Husayn al-Baghaw¨©, Muhammad Ibn al-Jawz¨©, and Ibn Kath¨©r) %A Yakup B£¿y£¿ko£¿lu %J - %D 2019 %X One of the essential sources for methodology of Quranic exegesis and Quranic sciences, is the introduction/muqaddimah parts of Tafs¨©r books. Especially the introductions of riwayah tafs¨©rs are of particular importance for collecting data. Most obvious example of riwayah tafs¨©r is al-£¿abar¨© since it was written in the early period. In his tafs¨©r, al-£¿abar¨© presents an introduction which is very rich in content. Being in the first place al-£¿abar¨©¡¯s tafs¨©r, a lot of information about Quranic Sciences can be reached in the introductions of tafs¨©rs which were written after the Codification Period. In this study, we have chosen the introductions of Husayn al-Baghaw¨©¡¯s, Muhammad Ibn al-Jawz¨©¡¯s and Ibn Kath¨©r¡¯s tafs¨©rs since they are examples of riwayah tafs¨©rs, to see the evolution of topics in the methodology of Quranic Exegesis. At the end, based on the collected information, we tried to find out the methodology and principles of these tafs¨©rs.
