%0 Journal Article %T Examination of Prevalance of Urinary Incontinence and Risk Factors for Premanopausal and Menopausal Women %A Ayten Din£¿ %A Nazl£¿ Emel £¿zer %J - %D 2019 %X This study investigated the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence (UI) among menopausal women A descriptive survey was performed on 400 women (200 pre-menopausal and 200 menopausal period) aged 40¨C64 years sampled in £¿anakkale from February 2016- May 2017. Data gathering tools; the women's socio-demographic characteristics, obstetric and gynecologic history, general health status and habits, UI symptoms UI symptoms was collected using a questionnaire. UI was defined according to the International Continence Society (ICS) classification. For statistical analysis Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis was used. The prevalence of UI in women during the premenopausal period was 9%, while it was 50% in menopausal women. The prevalence of UI was 29.6% in all women. The risk factors for UI are analyzed by logistic regression, 50-64 years (OR=3.676, %95, CI:1.9-7.06), BMI 30¡İ kg/m2 (OR=25.47, %95 CI:2.6-24.4), Diabetes mellitus (OR=8.06, %95 CI:3.6-17.7), 4¡İ number of vaginal deliveries (OR=7.28, %95 CI:1.67-31.6), maternal or sibling had UI olmas£¿ (OR=2.44, %95 CI:1.24-4.78), constipation (OR=3.48, %95 CI:1.68-7.22) were found to be risk factors.
