%0 Journal Article %T The Basic and Combined Types of the Makam U£¿£¿ak in the book T¨¹rk Mus£¿kisinin Nazariye ve Esaslar£¿ by Mahmut Ekrem Karadeniz %A Nihan Eskita£¿ %J - %D 2019 %X This article focuses on the reason why U£¿£¿ak makam types we see in Ekrem Karadeniz¡¯s book titled T¨¹rk Mus£¿kisinin Nazariye ve Esaslar£¿, are handled under the basic and combined makams. Karadeniz, in his book, referred to the combined makam as ¡°a makam that occured with the use of two and more makams together (Karadeniz, 2013, p. 116)¡± and described ¡°combined makams that finish on D¨¹gah¡± under the titles as Muhalif U£¿£¿ak, Dertli U£¿£¿ak, Dalpare U£¿£¿ak, Araban U£¿£¿ak, U£¿£¿ak Renk Gerdaniye, U£¿£¿ak Renk Hicaz (Karadeniz, 2013,s. 142). He added the notes of the works that he gave examples to these makams. This article is written in the context of the descriptions of the U£¿£¿ak makam types in the book of Karadeniz and the conformity of the works which are examplary to these makams. Under the title of Eser £¿ncelemeleri (Work Analysis), the sample works of Karadeniz in combined U£¿£¿ak makam types were examined, the definitions of makam and the suitability of the works to these definitions were compared.
