%0 Journal Article %T ON SEMANTIC VIOLENCE APPLIED IN THE WAR PROPAGANDA %J - %D 2018 %X The study aims to explain the technique of distorting and destroying the words, applied in propaganda, by the concept of semantic violence. Semantic violence is violence against language structures, in which traditional and generally accepted meanings, definitions, associations, and semantic contexts of concepts are subject to change. The research examines the mechanism, conditions and types of semantic violence using semiotic and semantic analysis techniques. For this purpose, we analyze a number of expressions used during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which influenced the sharp increase in hostility between two friendly nations.
