%0 Journal Article %T THE ADOPTION OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN METHODS ON THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FOR THE INCREASE OF STEM APPROACH %A Behi£¿ Alp Aytekin %J - %D 2018 %X The concept and structure of FeTeMM (STEM) is adopted as the most common approach for the transmission of educational contents. Learning by doing together with coding knowledge (Maker Movement) method is also discussed within the scope of this general work. In the ongoing FeTeMM applications in Turkey, the handling of visual communication design production as a discipline seems problematic. Visual communication design; it can be defined as problem-solving skills for audiovisual and touch interaction, taking into account the balance between aesthetics and function. When it comes to this definition, the need for re-interpretation of the relationship and business relationship with the field of visual communication design is on the agenda while creating digital education contents in FeTeMM applications. In this respect, two basic problematic issues are discussed in the study: Firstly, the relationship between the structure of visual communication design and the FeTeMM structure in Turkey is examined. Proposals are made for the reinterpretation of the contents and the structure, especially in the context of the application of the design, the arrangement of the interactions. The second problematic is the debate about how modern maker teachers use visual communication design basic skills to keep their motivation at the highest level. In the scope of the research, in order to observe the current state of education, in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 branch technology teachers in Ayd£¿n city center. Through the findings, the teachers are evaluated on the FeTeMM process in relation to technology and visual communication design.
