%T A Survey on the Use of Information Systems Applications: A Case Study of Turkish Companies

%X Information systems (IS) have long been considered as an asset of firms. In recent years, this perception has been changed in a way that IS form an ecosystem that creates value for companies. While IS and its applications have become a critical component for the firms, the relative use of IS applications on firm specific contingencies - ownership pattern, firm size, industry sector, and firm age - remained hidden in the extant literature. Therefore, we examine how the relative use of IS applications vary with these firm-specific contingencies based on a survey of 204 companies operating in a wide variety of sectors in Turkey. Using t-test and ANOVA, we find that the implementation of IS applications varies most with respect to ownership type and firm size and to a modest extent with industry and firm age
