%0 Journal Article %T An Overview of the Differing Attitudes of Eastern Christians During the Process of Adopting Arabic as the Literary Language %J - %D 2019 %X For Medieval Christians who fell under the Islamic rule, the process of adopting Arabic as the literary language took place in the span of three hundred years from the 8th to the 11th century. Christians who wrote in Arabic showed different approaches towards using the language. This article studies whether those Christian authors were aware of the connection between the Arabic language and Islam during this process and how this awareness influenced their attitudes.
