%0 Journal Article %T OCD from Theoretical Perspective %A Beria TOPTA£¿ %J - %D 2019 %X Freud was the first person who portrayed OCD scientifically in line with our knowledge today, at 19th century although it has been defined before. In this study, there will be seen Freud and his collegues explanations about OCD, evaluation of the success of psychoanalytic therapies over OCD treatment,in which cases the use of these therapies are more effective or necessary. Although psychoanalytic psychotherapies have a big impact in literature understanding OCD, it couldnt be observed the expected effect on treatment. However in order to solve some comorbid diagnosis situations or in resolving therapy resistance, this type of therapy works. When we take over the methods of behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapies, which are the most commonly prefered in the treatment of OCD, the effects of therapies has enlighted by different researches and those therapies give the most effective results on treatment of OCD. Besides, If we take over OCD from perspective of attachment styles theory, It has evaluated that it is a projection of insecure attachment. Accordingly, secure attachment is the base of the therapeutic relationship in therapy when we evaluate it from attachment style perspective. If all of the different theories and approaches are thought of as a buildings different floors and windows in different locations, it can be said that by combining the different information obtained from each one, it is possible to understand what is happening outside the building and to plan what to do. The importance of a holistic approach lies in the fact that it collects as much information as possible and tries to evaluate the situation in every way and to find the shortest path to the solution and to be able to update it at any time. The most important one of the basic principles of holistic psychotherapy is that it takes the human to the foundation. OCD is a view and its motivation is to protect the person. When a holistic psychotherapist is working, it is based on a person, not a symptom.
