%0 Journal Article %T Babagan Bektashism and the Democratic Party %A Zeki £¿evik %A £¿sa Tolga £¿£¿plak %J - %D 2019 %X The Bektashi Order, which is composed of Heterodox groups developed in the Ottoman history, has been divided into Babagan and £¿elebilik since the 16th century. In 1826, Babagan Bektashism was abolished because of its relation with the abolition of the Janissaries and the state was confiscated. But Babagan Bektashism continued its existence while in an unofficial situation. It was included in the Union Party Progressive Administration and had a semi-official identity.
