%0 Journal Article %T The Poetic Shur¨±tu's-Sal¨¡t of Mujall¨© %A £¿dris S£¿ylemez %J - %D 2019 %X The Turkish Islamic Literature exists since X. century. The main sources of this literature are Islamic intellectual heritage and the very rich scholarly body of knowledge developed around it. The main objective of the works in this literary genre is to enlighten the community and to educate Muslim community. In addition to catechisms, poetic hadiths, the introduction to £¿al¨¡t (obligatory Muslim prayers), this literary genre where religious matters can be expressed in the form of poem also includes Shur¨±£¿ al-£¿al¨¡t which provides information about £¿al¨¡t. The work to be examined in this article was written in XV. century by a poet whose appellative is Mujall¨©. The objective of his work was to make it easier to understand some legal principles on £¿al¨¡t such as far£¿ (obligatory acts), waj¨©b (compulsory acts), sunnah and musta£¿ab (recommended acts) for people who were illiteral or Muslim nomads. This work also includes some basic rules regarding ghusl (full-body ritual purification) in addition to £¿al¨¡t. This work is composed of a poetised introduction and eighteen sections about £¿al¨¡t.
