%X The traditional norms give responsibility to husband in the family to provide the subsistence for others. Yet, in the circumstances of widow women, the disabled men and for some reasons more, women can also work to get subsistence fort the family. Besides these, women also work in the women-demanded sectors such as health. Islam, therefore, encourages women to work in the related fields through removing the barriers against their working opportunities. Due to such necessities, women have always contributed to earnings in the family throughout the ages. This study aims to explore the dimensions of women¡¯s responsibilities in the society in the early Islamic period together with their engagements in different working areas
