%0 Journal Article %T BOSNIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE PROGRAM AS A RESULT OF GROWING ACADEMIC INTEREST TO THE BALKANS %A £¿MER AKSOY %J - %D 2018 %X In Turkey's Edirne, as a door to the Balkans, Bosnian Language and Literature program offering the undergraduate education within the Trakya University Faculty of Literature assumes a significant mission in terms of not only Turkey's strategic goals in the Balkans but also restoration of historical, religious and cultural ties with the Bosniaks that we have been part of the same state and nation for more than 400 years.The Bosnian Language and Literature program, that commenced accepting students in 2007, has been continuing education and teaching for 11 years. The program, besides Turkey's economic, politic and military initiatives towards the Balkans, it also represents an important branch of cultural expansion.
