%0 Journal Article %T EVALUATION OF MIDWIVES¡¯VIEWS RELATING TO MENTORSHIP PROGRAM %A Birsen KARACA SAYDAM %A Esin £¿EBER TURFAN %A Neriman SO£¿UKPINAR %A £¿ebnem KURUL %J - %D 2019 %X This research is a cross-sectional study that aimed to evaluate of mentorship knowledge and views of midwives having been undergraduate completion education with distance education programme and have been in employment. This study was conducted with midwives having been education with "Midwifery Undergraduate Completion Programme"in the Faculty of Health Sciences between July 2016-June 2017. Population of the study consists of all the midwives who having been undergraduate completion education and to employment in various units in the country (N=84). Study sample included 80 midwives who voluntarily to participated in this study. The study data was collected using the survey form 28-item open-ended questions. Midwives¡¯ mean age was 43.99¡À3.98 years (min:37, max:53). Midwives are in employment at hospitals (52.5%) and primary health care systems (37.5%). It was determined that 51.3% of midwives were aware of the term ¡°mentorship¡± and most of them undertook the mentor role voluntarily. It was found that mentors (midwives) were aware of their role and responsibility for helping students develop skills (93.8%), providing constructive feedback (92.3%), working together in clinic service (92.3%)in practice. The study also identified that midwives mostly undertook voluntarily the mentor role, most of them did not take mentor preparation programme however they were enthusiastic about taking certificated/approved mentor preparation course %K Ebelik %K Mentorluk %K Mentor %K Klinik E£¿itim %U http://dergipark.org.tr/nwsals/issue/42903/344585
