%0 Journal Article %T Examination of the Contribution of Emphatic Approaches of Administrators At Preschool Educational Institutions To Interpersonal Communication Skills %A Saliha Eren %A Selma G¨¹le£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X Since knowledge is becoming old-fashioned and leaving its place to new ones under the effect of rapid advancements in science and technology, individuals are in constant need for renewing and developing themselves in order to keep up with this rapid change. Moreover, since institutions cannot exist without humans, they are affected by these changes and developments as well. In this respect, in educational institutions, which are more social compared to other ones, it is more important to use and manage human resources effectively. At schools, emphatic approaches established by administrators in communications with staff and families are of importance. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the contribution of the emphatic approaches of the administrators servicing at preschool educational institutions to interpersonal communication skills and 16 administrators working at different nursery schools were reached. In the study, the case study design, which is one of the qualitative research designs and suitable for the nature of the study, was used and an administrator interview form was prepared by the researchers. For the analysis of the sets of data, some themes were determined beforehand and the sets of data were interpreted according to these themes. According to the study results, it was found that the emphatic approaches of the administrators working at the preschool educational institutions made a contribution to their interpersonal communication skills. It is understood from the given example cases that the school administrators with emphatic approaches reflect these skills of theirs in their relationships with teachers.
