Water has important places in beliefs, everyday life of ancient Turks. The beliefs of ancient Turks developed in the form of the cult of the Sky-Earth / Water-Ancestor-Nature. Tengri was identified with the sky and accepted as the creator of the universe who was sitting in the sky. In Central Asia, especially in the milieu of Altai and Yenisei, the belief of Tengri was replaced by ¨¹lgen. In the belief systems of the Altai Turks, the earth and water gods occupied an important place. Turks, who converted to Islam in Central Asia, began to settle in Anatolia with the 1071 Malazgirt Victory. During their settlement to Anatolia, they tried to Islamize Anatolia together with the influence of their old beliefs. In many architectural constructions which were built by Turks in Anatolia, the influence of Central Asian beliefs can be observed. The water structure elements such as; penstock, pool, selsebil and courtyard plan arrangements carry Central Asian belief traces with some mythological animals which were very important for old Turks %K Orta Asya %K T¨¹rk %K Sel£¿uklu %K Mimari %K mitoloji %U http://dergipark.org.tr/asobid/issue/46311/528781
