%0 Journal Article %T An Analysis on The Contributions of Popular Business Life Authors Carnegie and Casson on The Turkish Business Management Literature %A Ahmet Sait £¿zkul %J - %D 2019 %X This study investigates the books of popular business life authors that were published in Ottoman Turkish in Turkey before 1928. It aims to contribute to the field of business management and history of management-organization in Turkey. The literature on economics had a significant role in the preparation of a basis for knowledge on business management in the 19th and 20th centuries in Turkey. Therefore, firstly the development process of Westernoriented economics literature in the Ottoman Empire is discussed. The reason for this is to determine the types of conditions under which works with business management content emerged in Turkey. The study focuses on the contents of two works that were published in Turkey in 1912 and 1928 on business life. One of these is the book ¡°£¿£¿ £¿mparatorlu£¿u-Gen£¿lere Tar£¿k-i Muvaffakiyet¡± (original: The Empire of Business) by Andrew Carnegie, while the other is the book ¡°£¿£¿-Ticaret £¿leminin 16 D¨¹sturu¡± (original: The Axioms of Business) by Herbert N. Casson.
