%0 Journal Article %T ANALYZING THE ¡°RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY¡± PERCEPTION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN ACCORDING TO MATERNAL EDUCATION LEVEL %A Burcu SARI %A Handan As£¿de BA£¿AL %J - %D 2019 %X This study aims to reveal whether maternal education level makes a significant difference in the perception of children about respect for diversity. The study sample consists of 84 children (40 females and 44 males) at the age of 5-6 going to a kindergarten in Osmangazi district of Bursa province and the mothers of these children (n=84). The mothers in the sample include 23 primary school graduates, 30 high school graduates, and 31 university graduates. The data of the study conducted using the general survey model were collected through the ¡°The Scale of Respect for Diversities¡± (Ekmi£¿o£¿lu, 2007). The research findings as well as frequency and percentage distribution of the scores obtained by the children from the scale were given in tables, and then the results related to maternal education level were presented after being subjected to ANOVA test. The study revealed that the scores obtained by the children from the Respect for Diversity Scale did not differ significantly by maternal education level.
