%0 Journal Article %T Effects Of The Mindful Self-Compassion Program On The University Student's Self-Compassion %A Co£¿kun Arslan %A Halim Sar£¿cao£¿lu %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this research is to develop a psycho-education program with the intention of increasing the individuals' level of self-compassion and test the aforementioned program's efficiency on the university students. An experimental design with experimental-control groups, pre-test, post-test and follow-up tests is used in the research. Mindful Self-Compassion Program, which is 8 session, is implemented on the experimental group, and for the control group, no experimental procedure is implemented. Self-Compassion Scale, which is developed by Neff and adapted to Turkish by Deniz, Kesici and S¨¹mer, and personal information form, is used as data collection tool. Descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and Mann Whitney U Test were used when testing hypotheses. There is no significant difference between the experimental and control groups' self-compassion scores before the experimental procedure. After the experimental procedure, participants' self-compassion scores in the experimental group were found to be significantly higher than those in the control group. In the follow-up measurement applied one month after the experimental procedure, there was no significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental group and the follow-up test scores.
