%0 Journal Article %T Traceability in food chain %A Engin YARALI %J - %D 2019 %X Traceability is traced and tracked of the vegetable and animal products, food and feed, the animal or plant which the food is obtained, the substance which intended or expected to be found in food and feed during all stages of production, processing and distribution. Traceability include the production and distribution stages and imports from primary production to final sales. It aims to protect human health at the highest level in the relevant foods. The traceability system identifies all products and inputs, units or parties; the collection and storage of information about where, when, and where they are moving and the stages of establishing a system to relate these two data to each other. As far as traceability is concerned in terms of official controls, international certification activities such as BRC and IFS, which are the guiding Food Safety Management Standards of international food trade and healthy operation of food trade in our country. Traceability systems, which ensure food safety and quality, have an important place in recent years for businesses and regulators.
