%T Opinions of Social Work Academicians¡¯ on Military Social Work and The Place and Future of Military Social Work in Social Work Education in Turkey

%X In this study, it is aimed to draw a framework of social work academicians¡¯ opinions about military social work and the place and future of military social work in social work education in Turkey. The research is carried out by adopting full counting method with the social work academicians working in the social work departments providing the minimum undergraduate level education in accordance with the Council of Higher Education. Data were collected from the participants through a structured questionnaire. In this context, in addition to socio-demographic information of the participants, questions were asked to measure the opinions of military social work area and the position of the military social work area in social work education. The data of the study were obtained in 2018 between March 15 and June 15 and the data processing and analysis phase was performed by SPSS 22.0. As a result of the study, it is seen that 93% of the participants described the military social work area as important in terms of social work discipline. In addition to this, it was found that 87% of the participants had positive thoughts about the military social work area to take part in social work education. The discipline of social work aims to improve the well-being of people and therefore must be present in every area where human being exists. The knowledge base should be strengthened for the existence and development of social service area in the army. Therefore, it is important that social work academicians should take action and the social work area in the army should be included in the social service education curricula
