%X In parallel with the developments on new communication technologies and the opportunities offered by the internet journalism has changed and a new kind of journalism called internet journalism has emerged. Social media, which represents the latest developments in the field of internet has been increasing day by day, is becoming an indispensable tool for internet journalism with the opportunities which provides and by the help of the facilities that it brings. In this context, primarily the basics and historical development of internet journalism were discussed and definitions about the concept of social media were identfied. Afterwards, numbers of news belongs to selected four internet newspapers - between the dates 1st and 7th of November 2018- and their posts on Facebook and twitter were examined. Furthermore, additional datas were provided to the study by performing face to face interviews with the managers of the selected internet newspapers
