Computers are becoming more important with each passing day by maintaining its indispensability at homes, offices and even in pockets. The music field, which occupies an important place in our lives, had its share from this development. When the conducted studies are examined, the need of music education for the use of technological tools is obvious within the scope of education technology. As the MIDI technology, application fields, sound recording and arrangement being in the first place, notation programs such as playing programs, hearing education programs and instrument training programs are the most important technological opportunities that music teachers may use. When all the opportunities are evaluated, particularly notation programs are argued to be in the first place among the music teachers¡¯ order of needs. This study aims at identifying the knowledge, needs and attitudes of music teacher candidates about the notation programs, and to what extent they make use of these programs. The questionnaire, which is prepared by the researcher as a data collection tool in this study, was applied to the students of the Necmettin Erbakan University, Ahmet Kele£¿o£¿lu Faculty of Education, Department of Music Education.
