A total of 40 sheep were included in the study, 20 healthy (control group) and 20 natural babesiosis. Blood samples were taken from the vena jugular of 20 sheep with clinical findings in Biochemistry tube and blood tube with EDTA. DNA extraction was performed in accordance with the procedure with GeneJetViral DNA (Thermo Scientific, Catalog number: K0821) kit. PCR was performed using a pair of primers specific for the 18S ribosomal RNA gene region for the detection of Babesia agents. The amplified gene regions were stained with ethidium bromide on a 1% agarose gel and detected under UV light on a gel imager. According to the PCR result, 425 bp positivity was determined. Whole hemograms were performed from the blood taken from EDTA tubes. Serum was taken from the blood taken from the biochemistry tube and frozen at -20 until analysis day. Serum levels of heparin, serum iron and iron binding parameters were measured. In this study, it was observed that the values of RBC, HTC (p <0,001), HGB (p <0,05) values decreased in sheep with babesiosis compared to the control group. There was a decrease in neutrophil counts (p <0,05) compared to the control group, and an increase in lymphocyte, monocyte and basophil percentage (p <0,05). There was also a significant decrease in PLT numbers (p <0.05). Serum Fe levels were increased (p> 0,05), although statistical significance was not significant compared to the control group. In this study, hepsidine levels in babesia group were statistically higher than control (p <0,05). As a result, in sheep with babesiosis, it was concluded that the decrease in erythrocyte parameters, the development of stress leukogram, the increase in iron parameters and hepsidine levels, and it was concluded that these results may be diagnostic %K Babesia %K Hepsidin %K Demir %K Koyun %U http://dergipark.org.tr/vanvetj/issue/36915/434339
