%0 Journal Article %T MEASURING THE ATTITUDES OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT CITIES TOWARDS PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSON %A £¿mer S£¿VR£¿KAYA %J - %D 2018 %X The purpose of this research to measure the attitudes of secondary school students from different provinces towards physical education lesson. The sample group of the research consists of 308 volunteering students, 139 female and 169 male, in the 5, 6, 7 and 8 grades in the provinces of D¨¹zce, Sakarya and Zonguldak. A questionnaire was used as data collection tool. The first part of the questionnaire included an information form, while the second part included physical education and sport attitude scale (BEST£¿), which was revised by Demirhan and Altay (2001). In the analysis of data, independent groups t-test was used in comparing gender and attitudes towards physical education lesson; in one-way analysis of variance was used to compare the attitudes towards physical education lesson according to variables such as location, class, age, etc. and Scheffe test was used to determine in which group the difference was (P <0.05). The attitudes of the secondary school students were compared by taking into consideration the variable of city in which they lived. It was determined that the students who studied in the province of D¨¹zce had higher attitudes towards physical education than the students in Sakarya province.
