%T Determination of the presence of Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis on tomato seedlings used in Tokat province

%X This study aimed to determine Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm) caused tomato bacterial cancer and wilt disease on tomato seedling used by farmers in Tokat province. In 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 years 104, 82, 94, 102 and 169 tomato seedling samples were taken from seedling providers located in Central, Turhal, Pazar, Niksar ve Erbaa in Tokat, respectively. The disease agent was detected on tomato seedling by specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay after streaking on semiselective medium and extracting DNA of the bacteria growing on the medium. In 2013, 2015 and 2016, 19 out of 104, 7 out of 82 and 4 out of 94 tomato seedlings were infected with pathogen, respectively. On the other hand the disease agent was not detected in tomato seedlings samples collected in 2017 and 2018 years. According to results of this study, in seedling entered to the province, contamination ratio with Cmm decreased at important level
