%0 Journal Article %T The Effect of Workplace Incivility on Subjective Well-Being %A Ay£¿ehan £¿ak£¿c£¿ %A £¿zlem K¨¹£¿¨¹k %J - %D 2018 %X In working life, employees¡¯ and managers¡¯ behaviors may be mutually reflected to the instant happiness of the individual. Therefore, the incivil behaviors of managers in business life may have a significant effect on how employees feel themselves. In this scope, a research was conducted to determine the effect of workplace incivility on the subjective well-being of employees. The data were collected through a questionnaire which was developed based on the literature. The questionnaire was applied to 477 people working for the public and private sector institutions in Mersin province between January-March 2017, by face to face and e-mail via convenience sampling method. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics as well as factor and regression analysis. It was found that one unit increase in the managers¡¯ incivility reduced the general subjective well-being of the employees by 0.215 units, while the workers derived rudeness decreased by 0.150 units. It was determined that workplace incivility explained 9% of employees' subjective well-being. The article ends with the recommendation that managers should take into account of employees¡¯ happiness is an undeniable fact in organizational performance and therefore, with the suggestions that incivility at relations should leave its place to politeness %K £¿£¿yeri Kabal£¿£¿£¿ %K £¿znel £¿yi Olu£¿ %U http://dergipark.org.tr/iid/issue/31716/368835
