%0 Journal Article %T Biographical Work of Ke£¿eci-zade £¿zzet Molla: Devhat¨¹'l Mehamid f£¿ Tercemeti'l Valid %A Nil¨¹fer Tan£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X Ke£¿eci-zade Izzet Molla (1786-1829) revealed his works in a period of change and transformation that prepared the ground of the westernization process in the social and cultural life of Ottoman society. The poet named one of his Divans he wrote as Hazan-£¿ £¿sar during this period which is called the "last classical period" in the history of literature, and which is described as a "jubilee period" in classical literary. Besides this work, although the poetry of Ke£¿eci-zade, known by D£¿van-£¿ Bahar-£¿ Efkar; Mihnet-Ke£¿an, G¨¹l£¿en-i A£¿k and Naz u Niyaz Mesnev£¿s, has been the subject of many researches so far, the studies conducted on his prosaically works are rather limited. The poet¡¯s works of Devhat¨¹¡¯l Mehamid f£¿ Tercemeti¡¯l Valid in the biographical genre, two historical Laiha¡¯s and £¿erh-i Lugaz-£¿ Rag£¿b Pasha attributed to himself are amongst the important examples of the classical Turkish Prose. The poet wrote Devhat¨¹¡¯l Mehamid f£¿ Tercemeti¡¯l Valid, where he described his father's life, in the genre of in£¿a/ornamental prose. As a feature of this stylistic work, in the work are samples of literary arts such as assonance, repetition, contrast and puns, and telmihs, prayer scrolls and metaphorical expressions occasionally, with various poems, idioms and proverbs. Abstractions, metaphorical style, standard syllabic deviations, and contradictory interlaces are features that bring prose closer to verse. In this study, the place of Devhat¨¹¡¯l Mehamid f£¿ Tercemeti¡¯l Valid in biographical genres in classical Turkish literature will be determined first.
