%0 Journal Article %T An Analysis On Family Perception Of Generation Y %A £¿rem Paker Tš¹kel %J - %D 2018 %X For the social sciences, living in the same period, the group of individuals with common characteristics can be defined as generation. In today¡¯s world, using the common classification, generations can be named as Traditionalists, the Baby Boomer, Gen X, Y, and Z. People's perceptions, expectations, attitudes to life, customs and their everyday life practices and behaviors change according to the time period they live in. In societies, the most common area that feels the change is generally on family structure. Today, most members of Generation Y live with their parents and these young people seem to have hard times in communicating with them. As the smallest social unit of society, the family has been instrumental to the development of cultures and nations. Despite the changes in the family structure, families still serve several important functions for both society and the individual.
